1) Prevent unauthorised transactions in your account: update your mobile number and email ID with your stock broker. Receive information about your transactions directly from the Exchange on your mobile or email at the end of the day. Receive alerts on your registered mobile number for all debits and other important transactions in your demat account directly from CDSL on the same day. Once your KYC is done through a SEBI-registered intermediary (broker, DP, mutual fund, etc.), you need not undergo the same process again when you approach another intermediary. ● 4) Investors do not need to issue cheques when subscribing to an IPO. Simply write your bank account number and sign the application form to authorise your bank to make the payment in case of allotment. There is no need to worry about refunds, as the money remains in the investor's account. ● 5) Stock brokers can accept securities as margin from clients only by way of a pledge in the depository system, with effect from September 1, 2020. ● 6) Check your securities, mutual funds, and bonds in the consolidated account statement issued by NSDL/CDSL every month. On average, loss makers registered a net trading loss close to Rs. 50,000.
Over and above the net trading losses incurred, loss makers expended an additional 28% of net trading losses as transaction costs.
Those making net trading profits incurred between 15% to 50% of such profits as transaction costs.
